Washington:US President Donald Trump announced that the United States is engaged in "productive" discussions with Iran, assuring that there will be no military attack on Tehran before the upcoming US congressional midterm elections on November 3.

According to Qatar News Agency, Trump shared on Truth Social that while the US blockade of Iranian ports continues, oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz are reaching record levels. He reported that 22 million barrels of oil passed through the strait the previous night, none of which were from or headed to Iran.

Trump further mentioned that Iran is under significant economic and military pressure due to the ongoing blockade and reiterated the US stance that Iran will not be permitted to develop a nuclear weapon.
