Doha:Qatar celebrated a successful conclusion to the third round of the 2026 West Asia Beach Volleyball Tour, hosted in Doha, with the men's and women's teams both securing medals.
According to Qatar News Agency, the men's Qatar 1 team, comprised of Mousa Al Khair and Mohammed Ehab, reached the final after defeating Lebanon 1 in straight sets. However, they were narrowly defeated by Bahrain 1 with scores of 22-24 and 19-21, earning them the silver medal.
In the women's competition, the Qatar 1 team, featuring Haya Abu Issa and Laila Mohammed, made history by winning the bronze medal. They triumphed over Bahrain in a closely contested match, finishing with scores of 13-21, 21-19, and 15-12. This victory marks the first women's medal in the team's history.
The tournament showcased 15 teams from across the region, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Lebanon, reflecting the growing popularity and competitiveness of beach volleyball in West Asia.
