Qatar and British Council Sign Agreement to Boost Teacher Training

Hanoi:The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) in Qatar has formalized a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the British Council aimed at enhancing professional and technical training programs for teachers and school leaders.

According to Qatar News Agency, the signing ceremony was attended by HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, alongside representatives from the British Embassy in Qatar. The agreement was signed by Iman Salman Al Mohannadi, Director of MOEHE's Training and Development Center, and Dr. Waseem Qutub, Director of the British Council.

The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration in the creation and delivery of specialized training programs. It includes provisions for exchanging expertise, organizing workshops, conferences, and professional events, and fostering continuous learning through joint initiatives and projects.

Al Mohannadi commented that the agreement underscores a mutual dedication to advancing educational and leadership skills in accordance with professional standards. She emphasized that investing in training is a strategic move to enhance people's ability to adapt to educational advancements and contribute to future developments.

Dr. Qutub highlighted the MoU as a significant development in the educational partnership between Qatar and the UK. He emphasized the importance of investing in teachers and educational leaders to improve the quality and future of education, noting that the agreement will facilitate expanded cooperation through training and knowledge exchange.
