Paris:The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing international and regional cooperation in the fields of education, science, artificial intelligence, communication, and knowledge dissemination.

According to Qatar News Agency, this agreement, signed by ICESCO Director-General Dr. Salim M. AlMalik and UNESCO Director-General Dr. Khaled El Enany, establishes a framework for developing sustainable policies that promote cultural diversity and heritage preservation. It also aims to improve educational systems, including initiatives to advance green and digital education, support educational transformation, build teaching capacities, prevent school dropouts, and expand access to early childhood education.

Additionally, the agreement addresses the protection of cultural rights, promotion of cultural diversity, safeguarding endangered and underwater heritage, and combating illicit trafficking of cultural property. It also focuses on strengthening cultural policies and enhancing creative industries.
