UN: Settler Violence in West Bank on Rise

Doha: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced Thursday that it documented 13 settler attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank, resulting in the injury of four Palestinians, the displacement of two families, and the destruction of property, vehicles, and agricultural land.

According to Qatar News Agency, the office added in its daily report that, in light of the escalating Israeli settler violence and the reported increase in settlement expansion and the establishment of colonial outposts, OCHA has documented five cases of the kidnapping and detention of Palestinians by settlers in the Nablus, Ramallah, and Hebron governorates over the past three weeks.

It noted that settlers pursued children in the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, armed with knives and stones, and kidnapped a 13-year-old girl and her 3-year-old brother, who were later found on a street in the town.
