Turkish President and Pakistani Prime Minister Address Regional Issues

Istanbul: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met in Istanbul on Saturday to discuss prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing key regional and international issues.

According to Qatar News Agency, their discussions focused on developments in the Gaza war, the situations in Syria and Afghanistan, and the relationship between Iran and the United States. Both Turkiye and Pakistan emphasized the importance of diplomatic solutions and preventing the escalation of conflicts in the region.

The meeting also explored opportunities for expanding cooperation between Ankara and Islamabad in defense industries, technology transfer, and military training. They discussed strengthening coordination in combating terrorism and ensuring regional security. Additionally, they considered increasing trade volume, encouraging mutual investments, and expanding cooperation in energy, infrastructure, and transportation sectors.
