New york: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, and Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), Antonio Guterres, engaged in discussions on Thursday about the latest regional developments and their implications for security, stability, and the economy both regionally and internationally.

According to Qatar News Agency, this meeting took place on the sidelines of Albudaiwi's participation in the UN Security Council High-Level Open Debate in New York. The conversation encompassed a range of topics, with a primary focus on assessing and addressing the ongoing developments in the region and their impact on both regional and global fronts.

Albudaiwi emphasized the ongoing Iranian attacks against GCC states, specifically targeting infrastructure, which he argued reflect Iran's intention to destabilize security and peace. He highlighted the need to end these aggressive actions to protect international peace and security.

Antonio Guterres, representing the UN, expressed solidarity with the GCC states amid the Iranian aggression and underscored the necessity of stopping these attacks to ensure stability and security.
