Egypt: At least three people were killed and five others were injured after a Russian missile struck Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, early on Saturday, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. Klitschko reported that the missile hit a two-story residential building, which was reduced to rubble, and also ignited fires in nearby warehouses.
According to Qatar News Agency, Klitschko mentioned on Telegram that several individuals remained trapped beneath the debris as emergency crews continued their search efforts. Witnesses in the city reported hearing more than a dozen explosions.
The attack is part of an escalation in drone and missile strikes on Kyiv by Russia in recent months. Ukraine is currently facing challenges due to a significant shortage of air defense systems capable of intercepting ballistic missiles.
