Doha: Russia has lodged a protest with the Swedish Charge d’Affaires in Russia over the drone attack on the Russian trade mission in Stockholm.

According to Qatar News Agency, a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry indicated that Sweden’s Charge d’Affaires in Russia, Soderberg, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, a strong protest was lodged concerning the drone attack on the Russian trade mission in Stockholm that occurred two days prior.

The statement further emphasized that the Russian Foreign Ministry demanded Swedish authorities adhere to their obligations under the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. Russia has called on Stockholm to identify those responsible for the attack.

The Russian Embassy in Stockholm has previously reported that incidents of this nature have been ongoing for more than a year. The embassy has urged local authorities in Sweden to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the drone attacks targeting both the embassy and the Russian trade mission.
