Doha: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that its forces had taken control of a new town in eastern Ukraine over the past 24 hours, neutralizing 1,035 Ukrainian troops and downing 75 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

According to Qatar News Agency, in an official statement, the Ministry reported that units from the Vostok (East) group of forces successfully seized the town of Bogatyr, located in the Donetsk Oblast.

Ukrainian Armed Forces positions were overrun across several locations within the region, resulting in the destruction of multiple tanks, combat armored vehicles, field artillery units, ammunition depots, as well as electronic warfare stations and radar systems, the statement read.

It added that operational-tactical aviation, attack unmanned aerial systems (UAS), and rocket and field artillery units operated by the Russian armed forces inflicted significant damage on Ukrainian military infrastructure, including airfield facilities, production plants, UAV storage depots, and a fuel station used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
