Doha: HE President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani and Honorary Life President of the International Tennis Federation, Francesco Ricci Bitti, engaged in discussions on enhancing sports governance and advancing tennis on a global scale. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) General Assembly meetings currently hosted by Doha.
According to Qatar News Agency, the dialogue highlighted the State of Qatar’s dedication to upholding international standards in integrity, transparency, and independence. The discussions also focused on Qatar’s efforts to develop its national sports bodies according to the best international standards and practices.
HE Sheikh Joaan underscored the significance of robust governance structures as fundamental to the sustainability and legitimacy of sports organizations. He reiterated the QOC’s dedication to institutional development and its willingness to support international initiatives aimed at strengthening good governance principles across all sports systems.
Moreover, His Excellency emphasized Qatar’s commitment to tennis development through organizing international tournaments and supporting youth development programs at both regional and international levels.
