Zurich: The Qatari beach volleyball team, composed of Cherif Younness and Ahmed Tijan, has successfully advanced to the second round (round of 12) of the Gstaad World Tour in Switzerland. This advancement came after a decisive victory against the Norwegian pair, Henrik Nicolai Mol and Berntsen Matthias, in straight sets on Thursday evening.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari team, ranked seventh globally, triumphed in the match with scores of 21-19 and 21-17 during the third group match of the tournament, which is part of the Elite 16 World Tour. This victory follows their opening match success against the Portuguese team, Jo£o Pedrosa and Hugo Campos, where they secured a 2-1 win with set scores of 21-18, 23-25, and 15-11.

The Qatari duo’s performance in the tournament underscores their ongoing quest for notable achievements in this prestigious international competition, which features top beach volleyball talent from around the globe.
