Qatar Secures Leadership Role in Arab Civil Aviation Organization

Doha: The State of Qatar, represented by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), participated in the 74th Executive Council Meeting and the 29th General Assembly of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), held on June 29-30 in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco. The Qatari delegation was headed by In Charge of Managing QCAA Mohamed bin Faleh Al Hajri.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the General Assembly, Qatar was elected to the Executive Council of ACAO and secured membership on several technical committees, including the Air Transport Committee, the Environment Committee, the Media and Corporate Communication Committee, and the Financial and Administrative Oversight Committee. This achievement underscores Qatar's trusted position among member states and its active role in promoting joint Arab cooperation and advancing the Arab civil aviation sector.

Furthermore, the General Assembly approved the appointment of Qatar, represented by Mohamed bin Faleh Al Hajri, as Chair of ACAO's Financial and Human Resources Committee. This appointment highlights Qatar's esteemed standing and recognition of its capabilities and expertise in supporting the Organization's work and enhancing its institutional performance.

During the meeting, Al Hajri praised the efforts made in managing the Executive Council's work and the achievements that have bolstered the Organization's mission and role in developing the Arab civil aviation sector. He emphasized the meeting's importance in enhancing joint Arab cooperation and coordination in light of the challenges facing the sector, while continuing to develop operational, technical, and legislative frameworks to ensure the highest standards of safety, security, and efficiency in civil aviation.

Al Hajri also reiterated Qatar's commitment to supporting ACAO's efforts and initiatives aimed at achieving its objectives and strengthening cooperation and the exchange of expertise among member states.

The Executive Council Meeting and General Assembly also addressed topics related to aviation safety and security, infrastructure development, environmental issues, innovation and digital transformation, and mechanisms for strengthening cooperation among Arab states. Discussions focused on implementing the Organization's strategic objectives to advance joint Arab action and the continued development of the Arab air transport sector.
