Doha: Deposit rates at opening as issued on Monday by Qatar National Bank (QNB) showcase varying interest rates across several major currencies, including USD, JPY, CHF, GBP, QAR, SAR, AED, and BHD.
According to Qatar News Agency, the deposit rates for USD span from 4.32438 for a one-month deposit to 4.06785 for a twelve-month deposit, indicating a gradual decline over the longer term. The Japanese Yen (JPY) shows a stable increase from 0.35000 for one month to 0.55000 for twelve months.
For the Swiss Franc (CHF), the rates open at 0.01000 for a one-month deposit, dropping to -0.12000 for twelve months, pointing to negative interest rates over the longer term. The British Pound (GBP) rates range from 4.18000 for a one-month deposit to 4.35000 for both six and twelve months.
In the local and regional currencies, Qatari Riyal (QAR) one-month deposit rates start at 4.85000, descending to 4.50000 for twelve-month deposits. Saudi Riyal (SAR) offers an initial rate of 4.90000, decreasing to 4.80000 over a year. The United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED) shows a steady increase from 2.05000 for one month to 3.15000 for twelve months. The Bahraini Dinar (BHD) maintains a consistent rate of 5.00000 for one to six months, slightly lowering to 4.50000 for a twelve-month deposit.
