Qatar Engages in Key Discussions During United Nations Counter-Terrorism Week

New york city: The State of Qatar, represented by the National Counter-Terrorism Committee, actively participated in the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Week, which took place in New York City, USA, from June 26 to July 2, 2026.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari delegation held a significant meeting with Natalia Gherman, the UN Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate, on the sidelines of the week's activities. Additionally, the delegation met with Alexander Zuev, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Under-Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism, along with several officials from the office.

The discussions in these meetings focused on the existing cooperation between the State of Qatar and both the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism and the Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate. The meetings aimed at enhancing coordination in the areas of counter-terrorism and capacity building. Furthermore, the parties exchanged views on other topics of joint interest, reflecting a commitment to fostering international collaboration.
