Qatar and Chile Engage in Political Consultations, Sign Bilateral Agreements

Santiago: A round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Chile took place in Santiago on Saturday. HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, led the Qatari delegation while the Chilean side was headed by HE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto van Klaveren Stork.

According to Qatar News Agency, discussions during the consultations focused on strengthening and developing bilateral relations, alongside addressing a host of issues of common concern. This diplomatic engagement underscores the commitment of both nations to enhance cooperation and dialogue.

Following the discussions, the two governments formalized their mutual interests by signing two significant agreements. The first agreement established a framework for ongoing political consultations between their foreign ministries, fostering continued dialogue and cooperation. The second agreement involved the mutual exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, special, and official passports, facilitating easier travel and collaboration between the two countries.

These agreements were signed by Their Excellencies, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Chile’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, marking a step forward in the diplomatic relations between Qatar and Chile.
