Amman: King Abdullah II of Jordan on Tuesday discussed regional developments and cooperation with a delegation of US congressional staff members. The discussions focused on the pressing issues affecting the Middle East region.

According to Qatar News Agency, the King emphasized the importance of achieving comprehensive peace and maintaining Arab security. He issued a warning against any unilateral measures that target Palestinians, such as land annexation and settlement expansion. These actions, he noted, could further destabilize the region and undermine peace efforts.

Additionally, King Abdullah II highlighted the urgent necessity to stop Israeli violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. He reiterated Jordan's commitment to protecting these sites and ensuring their sanctity is respected, urging the international community to take action to prevent further escalations.
