Invest Qatar and MCQ Highlight Qatar’s Gaming Industry at Gamescom 2025 in Germany

Doha: Invest Qatar, the Investment Promotion Agency of Qatar, in partnership with Media City Qatar (MCQ), showcased the nation’s burgeoning gaming industry at Gamescom 2025, held in Cologne, Germany. This event is recognized as the world’s largest gaming convention, attracting over 1,500 exhibitors from 72 countries. With its dedicated booth, Invest Qatar spotlighted the vibrant gaming sector of Qatar and invited global developers to contribute to the next big gaming studio in the MENA region.

According to Qatar News Agency, this marked the debut of Invest Qatar at such a prominent international event. The booth featured notable Qatar-based gaming companies such as Digital Dunes, Mezan Studios, and Dijitink. The delegation engaged with global developers, publishers, and e-sports organizations, fostering discussions on collaboration and investment opportunities within Qatar’s rapidly expanding creative economy.

The booth highlighted Qatar’s strategic advantages, emphasizing its role as a gateway to the Middle East’s emerging digital media economy. Visitors were provided insights into Qatar’s foreign direct investment ecosystem, which includes supportive regulations, purpose-built infrastructure for media and gaming creators, robust IP frameworks, and a strong talent pipeline supported by world-class educational institutions and incubation and acceleration programs.

Members of the Qatari delegation also presented on the thriving gaming ecosystem in the country and its strategic vision for its creative economy. The joint participation of Invest Qatar and Media City Qatar at Gamescom 2025 underscored the country’s commitment to nurturing its gaming and digital media industry, reinforcing its position as an investor-friendly destination for those looking to expand their footprint across the Middle East and beyond.

As part of the rapidly growing MENA gaming industry, which is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11 percent between 2022 and 2029, Qatar offers a gateway to a region that hosts 17 percent of global players and ranks first worldwide for average revenue per paying user (ARPU).
