Berlin: German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has reiterated Berlin’s continued and unwavering solidarity with Ukraine. Steffen Hebestreit, the German caretaker government spokesman, said Monday that Scholz had a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to Qatar News Agency, the spokesman added that Scholz emphasized during the call that Zelenskyy’s willingness to an unconditional 30-day ceasefire clearly demonstrates that Ukraine “is the one that yearns for peace more than any other party.” Scholz called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to respond to the ceasefire.
