Four Killed, 11 Injured in Cafe Explosion in Damascus

Damascus: Four people were killed and 11 others injured in a preliminary toll following an explosion at a cafe in the Syrian capital, Damascus, on Thursday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), citing Director of Ambulance and Emergency Services at the Syrian Ministry of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al Bakour, reported that the explosion took place on Al-Nasr Street in the Al-Hijaz district. The injured individuals were promptly transported to hospitals for medical treatment.

The Syrian Ministry of Interior confirmed that security forces and ambulance crews were immediately dispatched to the scene. They efficiently evacuated the injured, provided necessary emergency assistance, and established a security cordon to secure the area.

A security source revealed that investigations are currently underway to ascertain the cause of the explosion.
