Egyptian President and Spanish Premier Urge Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza

Cairo: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, during a phone call on Tuesday, emphasized the urgent necessity for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the provision of humanitarian aid.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Presidency released a statement highlighting that both leaders strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing actions in the Gaza Strip and its efforts to displace Palestinians. They emphasized the importance of pursuing a two-state solution by increasing recognition of the Palestinian state and rallying support for the Arab-Islamic plan aimed at reconstructing the Gaza Strip without displacing its inhabitants.

The statement further addressed the situations in Syria, Lebanon, and Libya, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to maintaining the unity and territorial integrity of these nations while ensuring the safety of their populations.

Egypt and Spain pledged to continue their consultation and coordination on various regional matters, acknowledging their significant roles in restoring regional stability. Additionally, both countries expressed their desire to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of economics, trade, and investment.
