Baku: The Space Technologies Conference (STC2025) kicked off on Thursday in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, organized by the Azerbaijan Space Agency (Azercosmos), with the participation of over 400 representatives from 112 organizations across 35 countries spanning multiple continents.
According to Qatar News Agency, the two-day conference serves as an international platform to explore the latest innovations in space technology. Key topics include remote Earth observation for sustainable regional development, the role of satellite communications in Central Eurasia, innovation and investment in the space industry, and addressing regional challenges through satellite technology.
Participants include representatives from space agencies and research institutions from the Middle East, Europe, Asia, the Americas, and several African nations, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in advancing the space sector.
The event comes just days after the fourth meeting of heads of space agencies from member states of the Organization of Turkic States (Turkiye, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan), as well as observer states (Hungary and Turkmenistan), was held in Baku, further cementing Azerbaijan’s position as a regional hub for space collaboration.
