Doha: Al Wakrah suffered a 1-3 defeat at the hands of Al Arabi in the first round of the 2025-2026 QSL Cup at the Al Shamal Stadium on Tuesday. The Dream Team bagged their goals through Under-23 player Salem Reda in the 8th minute, Pablo Sarabia in the 41st minute, and Marwan Sherif in the 50th minute. Al Wakrah’s solitary goal came through substitute Redouane Berkane in the 81st minute.

According to Qatar News Agency, the victory allowed Al Arabi to sustain their winning momentum following their victory against Umm Salal in the third week of the Doha Bank Stars League. On the other hand, Al Wakrah, who have also been in fine form in the league, will be looking forward to bouncing back after this loss.

Meanwhile, Al Ahli and Al Duhail played out a goalless draw in their opening match of the 2025-26 QSL Cup at the Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium. Both sides battled hard but were unable to break the deadlock, eventually settling for the stalemate.

In the opening half, Al Ahli were a bit more forceful and had a few chances but were not able to convert any. The second session saw Al Duhail push harder but luck eluded them when an Adil Boulbina kick hit the crossbar in the 54th minute. The match was also marked by rough tackles, with Al Ahli picking up four yellow cards and Al Duhail two.
