Airport Security Department Concludes Basic Aviation Security Course with Regional Participation

Doha: The Basic Aviation Security Course, organized by the Airport Security Department, concluded today at the Al Wajba Hall of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) building. The course ran during the period of April 20-24.

According to Qatar News Agency, fifteen officers from the Ministries of Interior of the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the State of Kuwait participated in the course. The initiative aimed to enhance Gulf cooperation, exchange expertise, and develop skills in the field of aviation security.

The course covered various aspects of aviation security, including the Airport Security Department’s experience in managing security during major sporting events. It also featured a comprehensive review of relevant security protocols.

Participants had the opportunity to engage in a field visit to Hamad International Airport, where they observed the latest equipment and technologies employed in airport security. The Director of the Airport Security Department, Colonel Khamis Mohammed Al Muraikhi, attended the closing ceremony, marking the end of a successful training program.
