4.1 Magnitude Earthquake Struck Aegean Sea in Western Trkiye

Aegean Sea: A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Aegean Sea in western Turkey on Sunday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported in a statement that the earthquake was at a depth of 7.01 km. No causalities or material damage have been reported.

Trkiye, situated on one of the world’s major seismic fault lines, experienced a devastating earthquake on Feb. 6, 2023, that claimed the lives of more than 50,000 people, caused widespread infrastructure damage across multiple provinces, and left thousands injured.
