Hanoi:Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has partnered with the Education Above All Foundation (EAA) to establish a framework aimed at providing alternative education pathways for out-of-school students.
According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement focuses on the operation and development of tuition-free Assalam Schools, which will expand educational opportunities for students who encounter barriers to mainstream schooling.
The agreement was signed by Mohammed Kareeb, MoEHE's Assistant Undersecretary for Shared Services, and EAA's Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Al Kubaisi. The signing ceremony was attended by HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah Al Khater, HE Undersecretary Dr. Ibrahim Al Nuaimi, and senior officials from both parties.
This partnership aims to offer suitable educational opportunities to students struggling to access formal education and to foster an inclusive learning environment that respects cultural, social, and economic diversity. Officials noted that the initiative also aims to enhance students' academic and social skills while providing a safe and supportive educational setting.
Kareeb highlighted that the agreement demonstrates the ministry's dedication to delivering quality education tailored to the needs of students facing educational challenges and to enhancing collaboration with civil society organizations.
Al Kubaisi emphasized that the agreement builds on existing cooperation between EAA and the ministry to support Assalam Schools. He noted that the foundation collaborates with partners to address obstacles preventing students from accessing education and to develop appropriate solutions.
Salem Al Mansouri, senior consultant at the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science and general coordinator of the Assalam Schools project, stated that the agreement represents a significant step in institutional cooperation. It aims to better organize the schools' operations, strengthen their sustainability, and promote equal access to education.
Launched in 2019, the Assalam Schools project has been dedicated to providing alternative educational pathways for students having difficulty enrolling in mainstream schools, aligning with the principles of inclusive and equitable education.
