Ministry of Endowments to Showcase Publications at Doha International Book Fair

Doha: The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs is gearing up for its participation in the 34th edition of the Doha International Book Fair, set to commence tomorrow and run until May 17. The ministry’s presence will be marked by a comprehensive pavilion that highlights various departments and their contributions to the book fair.

According to Qatar News Agency, the pavilion will feature sections dedicated to the ministry’s scientific, fiqh, da’wah, and endowment-related publications. It aims to introduce visitors to key programs that benefit the local community and diverse audience segments. The General Department of Endowments will present a display of endowment projects and documents, offering insights into the concept of waqf, its areas of disbursement, and its societal benefits. The Center for Endowment Studies will also be introduced, showcasing its role in advancing endowment work through research and academic activities.

The pavilion will offer a range of publications, including scholarly series, a peer-reviewed journal, and a comprehensive waqf database, catering to researchers and specialists. The Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance will engage visitors with interactive activities and printed materials that introduce the Islamic library and fatwa services to academics, students, and schoolchildren.

A prominent section will be dedicated to the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, highlighting its multilingual publications and educational programs designed for expatriate communities. Additionally, the ministry’s pavilion will serve as a platform for launching new books and publications and hosting seminars on contemporary intellectual and religious issues, enhancing the cultural and intellectual engagement of the fair’s audience.
