GCC Denounces Houthi Attack on Riyadh Airport

Riyadh:The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has expressed strong condemnation of a Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, that resulted in the deaths of three Saudi nationals and injuries to several others.

According to Qatar News Agency, the attack occurred on Thursday, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi labeled the incident as a "terrorist attack" and urged for serious international intervention and decisive measures to prevent further assaults on civilian airports and civilians. He emphasized that the attacks breached fundamental humanitarian principles and international conventions, highlighting the necessity of preventing similar occurrences in the future.

Albudaiwi reiterated that the security of Saudi Arabia is a crucial component of the security of all GCC member states. He also conveyed the council's unwavering support for Saudi Arabia in any actions it takes to ensure its security, protect its national assets, and maintain its territorial integrity.

The GCC secretary-general extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
