Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the initial drafts of the US proposals for a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia meet many of Kyiv's demands. He also noted that it is unlikely either side in the nearly four-year-long conflict will get everything it wants in the settlement talks.
According to Qatar News Agency, Zelenskyy explained that the drafts look solid at this stage, but acknowledged there are some things Ukraine may not be ready to accept, and likely some elements the Russians might not agree to either. He emphasized that about 90 percent of Ukraine's demands are included in the draft agreements.
Zelenskyy further elaborated that Ukraine is requesting the US Congress to review the bilateral document, while maintaining confidentiality on certain details and annexes. He also noted that the US team is currently engaged in discussions with Russian envoys, and Washington has requested that no details be disclosed.
