Doha: The Third Annual Palestine Forum is set to begin in Doha on Saturday. Organized by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies (ACRPS) in collaboration with the Institute for Palestine Studies, the forum will continue for three days.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ACRPS stated in a Thursday announcement that this year’s forum coincides with the ongoing conflict targeting Gaza and the West Bank. Numerous sessions have been dedicated to exploring various aspects of the conflict in the region, including its implications under international law, global solidarity, genocide, and the impact on cultural education.
The sessions will also address the future consequences of the war and strategies for addressing them, as well as topics such as women in times of war, digital activism, and the symbolic representation of Palestinian resistance. Additionally, the forum will cover broader issues related to the Palestinian cause, such as apartheid, settlement colonization, Nakba, Palestinian refugees, Jerusalem, and the plight of Palestinian prisoners. Public symposia will also be convened to address current issues.
The forum, held annually at a global level, is recognized as a leading academic event focused on the Palestinian cause. It is noted for the quality of its discussion papers and the diverse research approaches of contributing researchers. The event supports scientific research on Palestine and has gained an Arab and international reputation, attracting a wider audience interested in the Palestinian cause and its regional and global contexts.
The forum serves as a venue for sharing viewpoints on Palestine and related issues. This year, it is expected to present 90 scientific papers selected from 560 applications, with proposals from both Palestinian and non-Palestinian researchers worldwide. These papers will be presented in specialized sessions across parallel tracks, along with a series of public seminars.
