Syria condemns in the strongest possible terms the war crime being committed by the Turkish regime through depriving more than one million Syrians of water, especially in light of the high temperatures recorded, Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry added that the Turkish regime and its tools of separatist groups are still cutting drinking water, keeping it out of reach for people in Hassaka and its surroundings.
“Syria calls on the UN to immediately and effectively act to stop such violation of all international laws, norms and charters, and to ensure the resumption of water pumping from the station at full speed, through ensuring the access of the staffs of international organizations and the water station there to fix and run it, thus the water can be reached by the residents” the statement read.
“Syria reiterates its demand for ending the illegitimate presence of the US and Turkish forces on the Syrian territories, thus the country can restore its control there and the state-run institutions resume their work in the north, northeast and northwest of Syria, which is the only way to end the suffering of the Syrians and improve their living conditions” the ministry concluded.
