S. Korea, US, Japan Stage Joint Air Drills Involving B-1B Bomber

Doha: South Korea, the United States, and Japan conducted combined air drills on Wednesday, featuring at least one B-1B bomber, as confirmed by South Korea’s defense ministry. This exercise follows North Korea’s recent launches of hypersonic and short-range ballistic missiles.

According to Qatar News Agency, the trilateral drills were the first such exercise of the year and included South Korean F-15K and Japanese F-2 fighter jets. The Korean Defense Ministry reported that the exercise aimed to enhance the joint capabilities of the three nations to deter and respond to the evolving nuclear and missile threats from Pyongyang.

The ministry stated that South Korea, the US, and Japan are committed to strengthening cooperation to jointly deter North Korea’s threats. They plan to continuously expand trilateral drills based on close cooperation to effectively respond to these challenges.
