They emphasized the necessity of fully withdrawing occupying forces from the Strip and all occupied Palestinian Territories.
According to Qatar News Agency, a joint statement marking the visit of Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tariq to Moscow and his discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that to bolster the connection between the two nations, the parties engaged in an official discussion session where they emphasized their commitment to furthering bilateral cooperation across multiple domains and the necessity of building on existing achievements.
They emphasized the necessity of resolving conflicts and disagreements via dialogue and peaceful methods, while adhering to the principles of international law and the UN Charter. They also discussed the Palestinian issue and the need for a fair resolution that acknowledges all legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, based on a two-state solution that establishes an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with relevant international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
They expressed profound concern regarding the tragic circumstances in the Gaza Strip and emphasized their backing of global initiatives aimed at achieving an immediate and lasting ceasefire.
The two parties discussed a variety of subjects that are of mutual concern, including approaches to strengthening economic and trade relations between Oman and Russia in areas identified as key to development, means to enhance joint investment opportunities across various sectors, and plans to improve communication and raise the frequency of visits among different stakeholders from both countries to oversee cooperative efforts.
They welcomed the signing of various agreements and memorandums of understanding aimed at consolidating and developing cooperation between the two countries, the establishment of a Joint Economic Committee, and the exemption of their citizens from visa requirements.
