Doha: HE Minister of Social Development and Family, and Chairperson of the board of directors of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA), Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, inaugurated the strategy for the charitable and humanitarian sector in Qatar for 2025-2030, along with the Domestic Aids Portal “SANADY”. The event witnessed attendance from ministers and representatives of national institutions engaged in charitable and humanitarian work.
According to Qatar News Agency, the new strategy aims to enhance charitable work both within Qatar and internationally. It focuses on transparency and sustainability in humanitarian services, with SANADY playing a crucial role in improving coordination between donors and beneficiaries. The portal is designed to enhance the efficiency and transparency of aid distribution, aligning with national objectives in social and developmental fields to improve the quality of life in Qatar.
HE Al Nuaimi emphasized the importance of these initiatives for social development, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. She highlighted that RACA and its partners are committed to advancing this vision, contributing to an advanced and prosperous community. The strategy and the SANADY portal are seen as vital steps in coordinating domestic charitable efforts, reflecting a commitment to sustainable development and social justice.
The strategy serves as a roadmap for investing in local resources and building partnerships to achieve a lasting impact both domestically and internationally. SANADY is not just a tool for aid coordination but an integrated system for assessing needs and ensuring transparency across entities. HE Al Nuaimi acknowledged the contributions of RACA’s partners, specifically praising HE Minister of State for International Cooperation, Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, for her efforts in this achievement.
Director General of RACA, Ibrahim Abdullah Al Dahimi, stated that the strategy focuses on improving coordination within the sector, enhancing institutional capabilities, and supporting continuous growth. The methodology involved global expertise to balance national and international objectives, particularly in regard to the SDGs 2030. SANADY offers an online system for managing aid applications, fostering coordination, and ensuring data privacy.
Mohammed Al Ghamdi, head of the leadership team for the strategy, described this as a significant moment in Qatari philanthropy. The strategy is the result of collaboration between various Qatari organizations and aims to position Qatar as a leader in charitable work both regionally and globally. He highlighted Qatar’s unique approach to enabling charitable work and its competitive capabilities in this sector.
Chairperson of SANADY’s Executive Task Force, Rashid Mohammed Al Nuaimi, noted that the portal is a result of unified efforts across Qatar’s charitable sector. The portal aims to expedite aid delivery and improve coordination among aid providers. He mentioned future agreements with additional entities to further reduce the burden on charitable societies and prevent duplicate aid disbursements.
The strategy introduced by QCRA is the first of its kind in the region, setting a model for charitable and humanitarian work. It includes nearly 60 initiatives planned for the coming years, with SANADY being the largest initiative for coordinating aid across public and charitable entities. Rashid Al Nuaimi highlighted ongoing efforts to expand partnerships and enhance the portal’s effectiveness.
