Doha: Ukrainian authorities said Tuesday that Russian strikes wounded civilians in the Sumy and Zaporizhzhia regions, while Moscow said its forces destroyed Ukrainian combat groups and drone command centers in the latest wave of cross-border attacks.

According to Qatar News Agency, Ukraine's state news agency Ukrinform reported that Russian forces dropped guided bombs on the northeastern Sumy region, wounding several people and damaging civilian infrastructure. In the southeastern Zaporizhzhia region, authorities reported 14 injuries after Russian forces carried out 1,107 attacks.

Meanwhile, Russia's Defense Ministry stated that its forces destroyed several Ukrainian combat groups in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions and targeted five Ukrainian drone command centers in response to what it described as a Ukrainian attack in the Sumy region.

Separately, Rodion Miroshnik, Russia's ambassador-at-large, reported that Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory over the past week resulted in 57 deaths and 435 injuries.

Both nations acknowledged intercepting a significant number of drones overnight. Russia's air defense units claimed they downed 356 Ukrainian drones, while Ukraine's air force reported intercepting 107 of 131 drones launched by Russia.

Russia and Ukraine have escalated long-range drone and missile attacks in recent months, with frequent strikes on energy infrastructure, military facilities, and other strategic sites. Claims by either side regarding battlefield developments and casualty figures could not be independently verified.
