Qatari-Omani Joint Committee Explores Economic and Investment Cooperation

Muscat: The Qatari-Omani Joint Committee convened for its 24th session in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, engaging in two days of discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation.

According to Qatar News Agency, the session was led by HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari for Qatar and HE Minister of Finance Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi for Oman. The committee explored a comprehensive range of collaborative efforts between the two nations, with a particular emphasis on economic, commercial, investment, and development partnerships. The aim was to enhance bilateral ties in ways that serve the interests of both countries and contribute to advancing joint Gulf cooperation.

HE Minister Al Kuwari highlighted the significance of these meetings, asserting their role in deepening bilateral relations. He stated, “The meetings of the Joint Committee reflect the depth of relations between our two countries and serve as an important platform to strengthen economic and investment cooperation, develop practical partnerships, support Gulf integration, and open broader horizons for sustainable development across various sectors.”

Echoing these sentiments, HE Minister Al Habsi of Oman remarked on the exemplary model of bilateral cooperation that the Joint Committee represents, underscoring the growing need for enhanced joint efforts to achieve progress, prosperity, and sustainable development for both nations.

During the session, the committee reviewed the progress of various joint projects and considered initiatives aimed at boosting collaboration in sectors such as agriculture, telecommunications, transport, tourism, banking services, and education. They also explored potential investment opportunities available in both countries.

The Qatari-Omani Joint Committee first met in Doha in April 1995, and its sessions have since alternated between the two countries, consistently reinforcing the path of joint cooperation and coordination.
