Qatari daily Al-Arab highlighted the endeavors of the State of Qatar to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and its diplomatic efforts to address the dangerous escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In its editorial entitled “Qatar Continues Efforts to End the War on Gaza”, Al-Arab underlined that the Qatari efforts have not stopped since the outbreak of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. The humanitarian pause announced on Nov. 22, 2023 was the fruit of the tireless efforts exerted by the State of Qatar at the highest levels, in coordination with all partners.
Qatar’s political and diplomatic efforts of the State of Qatar have not stopped for a single moment over the past months and weeks, primarily aiming to reach an immediate ceasefire, reduce escalation, protect civilians, and release prisoners; eventually stopping the bloodshed and sparing the region a wider cycle of violence, Al-Arab stressed.
In conclusion, Al-Arab affirmed that the State of Qatar is committed to its solidarity
with the brotherly Palestinian people in their struggle to achieve their legitimate rights which it considers a condition for a just peace. These rights includes Israel’s withdrawal from all Arab territories occupied in 1967, including East Jerusalem, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, and the right of return for refugees.
Qatari daily Al-Raya said that the real intention behind the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7 was to wage a war on the capabilities of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and destroy them rather than freeing the hostages. This was evident from the first hours of the aggression in the statements of the occupation leaders who called for starving the Strip, destroying it, and displacing its people in order to intensify the suffering of the Palestinians who are living a new catastrophe.
Al-Raya noted that the Israeli bombardment focused mainly on civilian targets including homes, hospitals, mosques, schools and colleges, because the real goal
was to destroy the future of Gaza children and youth.
The Israeli occupation targeted even the UNRWA educational institutions sheltering displaced civilians. Unfortunately, there is no safe place in Gaza, and there is no immunity because everyone has become a legitimate target for the brutal occupation, Al-Raya said.
Commenting on another topic, Qatari English newspaper, The Peninsula, highlighted the preparations of Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) and the Lusail International Circuit (LIC) to host another successful edition of the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix which will see the worlds best drivers in action at the iconic venue.
In its editorial entitled “Qatars F1 Spectacle”, The Peninsula said that the spectacular F1 week in Qatar, scheduled to be held from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, will be the penultimate round of the world championship prior to the final race in Abu Dhabi.
These sporting events maintain Qatars status as a motorsports hub in the Middle East, and drive economic growth
through tourism and revenue. They also promote a local and regional sporting culture, inspire youth participation, and align with Qatars National Vision 2030 goals, the paper stressed.
