Al-Arab newspaper highlighted the election of HE Maryam bint Abdullah Al Attiyah as Chairperson of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) for a five-year term.

The election comes as a continuation of the legacy built by the committee in the field of human rights in the State of Qatar, which has qualified it to enjoy the highest classification that can be given to a national institution in the world for three consecutive sessions since 2010, in addition to the reputation it now enjoys regionally and internationally, the paper said.

Al-Arab stressed that promoting and protecting human rights in Qatar is not only a strategic choice, but also a fundamental factor for the economic, social, cultural and environmental transformation of the country. Qatar National Vision 2030 confirmed this, as it includes important pillars that touch on the main issues of human rights in the fields of education, health, environment, labor rights, womens empowerment and childrens rights.

The paper pointed out that the State of
Qatar has adopted many legislative measures related to the promotion and protection of human rights, starting with issuing Law No. 12 of 2015, which granted the NHRC independence and surrounded it and its members with legal guarantees in order to enable the committee to perform its work and tasks guaranteed to it by law with complete freedom and transparency. Qatar is also currently working on preparing the National Human Rights Plan in accordance with the Cabinet resolution issued in 2014.

The Committee has implemented, since it began its work, many programmes and activities in Qatar, and has strengthened cooperation with a number of relevant ministries, institutions and governmental entities, as well as with national, regional and international civil society organizations, specialized organizations and agencies related to human rights in the United Nations, and national human rights institutions in many countries, Al-Arab concluded.

In its editorial titled “Enhancing Job Placements with IT”, the newspaper said that the platform relies on the power of Google Cloud and AI technologies to streamline the recruitment process, making it easier for students to find jobs that match their skills and career aspirations.

The Peninsula concluded by stating that the ongoing integration of technology promises to enhance economic growth, improve labour conditions, and ensure sustainable development in the years to come.

In Arab affairs,
Al-Watan newspaper noted the daily massacres which have claimed the lives of dozens in the Gaza Strip, stressing the need for the international community to unite to stop these massacres against civilians and innocents, and to reach an immediate ceasefire.

The newspaper said that the Israeli occupation army issued evacuation orders for Palestinians in several areas in the northern Gaza Strip, especially in Beit Hanoun and the neighborhoods of Al-Manshiya, Sheikh Zayed, and the displaced in the northern Gaza Strip. The area also witnessed a forced displacement movement.

Forced evacuation orders issued by the occupation army have become a daily occurrence for the citizens of the Gaza Strip, who are forced to leave in order to save their lives, knowing that there is no safety anywhere in the Gaza Strip. UNRWA statistics indicate that 83 percent of the Gaza Strip has been placed under evacuation orders, or has been classified by the occupation army as ‘prohibited areas’, the paper added.

The occupation army co
