Aichi-Nagoya:Qatar's shooting team achieved a remarkable accomplishment by securing two gold medals in the men's skeet competition at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 event, both in the individual and team categories.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE Secretary-General of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, expressed his gratitude for this impressive feat. He noted that the victories signify Qatar's growing sports excellence and the shooters' ability to compete against top-tier athletes in major international competitions.
Al Buenain extended his congratulations to the shooters, highlighting the exceptional performance of Rashid Al Athba, who clinched the individual gold medal. He emphasized that the team's success is a testament to the dedication and collaboration of the athletes, coaches, and the Qatar Shooting and Archery Federation.
He also remarked that the two gold medals serve as a morale booster for all Qatari athletes participating in the Asian Games, reinforcing the strength of Qatari shooting. Al Buenain expressed his anticipation for continued success and further positive outcomes in upcoming events, aiming to see Qatar's flag prominently displayed on the winners' podium.
Additionally, Al Buenain pointed out that Qatar's shooting victories increased the country's Asian Games medal tally to four, including two golds, a silver, and a bronze. He praised the Al Annabi karate champions for initiating the medal campaign with their achievements and expressed confidence in more successes for Qatari sports in the future.
