Qatar Exchange Index Gains 36.46 Points This Week

Doha, September 20 (QNA) – Qatar Exchange index gained 36.46 points (0.43%) this week when the bourse closed Thursday at 8,599.65 points. From the 42 listed companies, 16 ended this week higher while 23 fell and three remained unchanged.
The traded value during this week decreased by 43.95% to reach QR 1,181,467,877.81 compared to QR
2,107,965,155.75 the previous week.
The traded volume decreased by 62.19% at 29,149,481 shares compared to 77,100,524 shares while the number of transactions fell by 1.00% to reach 17,857 compared to 18,037 transactions last week.
The market capitalization was up by 0.20% to reach QR 473,381,181,588.22 compared to QR 472,452,021,207.91 at the end of previous week.
Banks and financial services led the traded value this week with 33.87% of the total traded value. Real Estate sector accounted for 23.49%. Consumer goods and services sector accounted for 17.93% and industries accounted for 11.77%.
Real Estate led the traded volume this week with 35.83% of the total traded volume. Banks and financial services accounted for 25.56%. Consumer goods and services accounted for 12.60% and telecoms accounted for 11.72%.
Banks and financial services led the number of transactions this week with 30.21% of the total number of transactions. Real Estate accounted for 20.02%. Consumer goods and services accounted for 18.93% and industries accounted for 12.62%.
Barwa Real Estate led the traded value this week with 17.94% of the total value. Qatar National Bank accounted for 9.76% and Commercial Bank accounted for 8.53%.

Qatar Exchange Down 0.06%
The Qatar Exchange was down on Thursday 5.17 points or 0.06% to 8,599.65 points from the previous closing of  8,604.82. The volume of shares traded was up to 4,847,650 from 4,717,705 Wednesday, and the value of shares down to QR192,213,799.64 from QR203,216,337.94  Wednesday.
 Among the top losers were Commercial Bank of Qatar whose share dropped 0.80% to QR74.40, International Islamic Bank lost 0.57 to QR52.30, Electricity and Water fell 0.74% to QR134.40 and Doha Insurance down 3.64% to QR29.10.
Today the Qatar Banking and Financial sector dropped 1.14 points while the Insurance sector down 56.49 points. The Qatar industrial sector added 0.37 points and the Services sector lost 1.62 points. (QNA)
