Qatar Engages in Diplomatic Interactions and Advances Sustainable Development Goals

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani participated in a series of high-level diplomatic meetings and engagements on Wednesday. He met with HE Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Minister for Defense of the Republic of Ireland Simon Harris. Additionally, Sheikh Mohammed received a phone call from HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic Antonio Tajani. Moreover, HE President of the Republic of Ireland Michael Daniel Higgins also held discussions with Sheikh Mohammed.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet’s regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan. He also met with HE Minister of Defense of the Republic of Iraq Thabet Muhammad Saeed Al Abbasi and his delegation. In parallel, HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad emphasized the significance of innovative financing and effective partnerships to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi announced the executive regulations of Law No. 5 of 2024 concerning real estate registration. The new regulations and accompanying ministerial decisions aim to enhance the real estate system’s efficiency, consolidate customer trust, and align with the country’s digital transformation objectives.

Qatar has achieved a notable milestone by leading the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in the 2025 Global Peace Index by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) in Australia. This achievement highlights the country’s growing influence on the global stage.

Represented by the Ministry of Municipality, Qatar participated in a regional conference focused on enhancing the resilience and sustainability of agri-food systems in the Mediterranean and Middle East. The conference was organized by the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) with several international partners.

As part of its ongoing digital transformation initiatives, Qatar launched a new phase of the national “SafeSpace” initiative, aimed at promoting digital literacy and family protection. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) are collaborating to expand the initiative’s reach.

Qatar also participated in the Eighth Plenary and Closing Sessions of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development in Seville, Spain. Additionally, Qatar condemned recent statements by the Israeli Minister of Justice regarding the annexation of the occupied West Bank, citing violations of international law.

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) announced plans to host the 6th International Primary Health Care Conference (IPHCC) – Qatar 2025, under the patronage of HE Minister of Public Health Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud. In line with digital transformation efforts, HE Saad Sherida Al Kaabi visited the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) facility as part of efforts to modernize Qatar’s electricity and water sectors.

The Shura Council continues to enhance its external relations to support Qatar’s foreign policy objectives and contribute to international peace. Lastly, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs urged the Muslim community to fast on Ashura day, following the Sunna of the Prophet.
