Baku:Doha Qatar Charity has intensified its humanitarian efforts to provide aid to families impacted by recent floods in Morocco. The organization, supported by generous donors, launched a food relief campaign in Tata Province, reaching approximately 9,744 individuals.
According to Qatar News Agency, the initiative involved the distribution of 1,392 food baskets to families affected by the flooding, as well as those in critical need. This effort is part of Qatar Charity's broader mission to alleviate financial strain on these households and enhance their food security.
The project was conducted in collaboration with local authorities to ensure a seamless distribution process and the effective delivery of aid to those eligible. Beneficiaries of the humanitarian initiative expressed their gratitude, acknowledging the positive impact of the aid in easing their daily challenges.
Tata Province is particularly susceptible to flooding. In September 2024, severe floods and flash floods hit the area, resulting in loss of life and significant property damage. The floods affected homes, infrastructure, agricultural land, and local livelihoods, increasing the vulnerability of many families and communities.
