Public Prosecution Advocates for Enhanced Gulf Cooperation in Drug Combat

Doha: The Public Prosecution, represented by the Institute of Criminal Studies, organized a seminar to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The event witnessed the participation of several prosecutors and specialists from different bodies within the country.

According to Qatar News Agency, the seminar addressed key themes related to drug combat, including a presentation titled "The Role of the Public Prosecution within the National Efforts of the State of Qatar in Combating Drugs," delivered by Ahmed Ali Al Sulaiti, Head of the Narcotics Prosecution at the Public Prosecution. Additionally, Mohammed Rashid Al Duaij, an advisor at the Court of Appeal in the State of Kuwait, outlined Kuwait's legislative experience under the new anti-drug law.

The seminar included a presentation on "Behavioral and Community-Based Treatment of Drug Abuse" by Dr. Khalid Hamad Al Muhannadi, a psychology consultant at the National Service Academy. Interactive discussions were also a part of the seminar, showcasing national experiences aimed at enhancing professional awareness in combating drug abuse.

The Public Prosecution stated that the seminar highlighted the need for national and Gulf cooperation in drug control strategies. It emphasized promoting awareness and treatment as fundamental elements, along with developing practical strategies to protect society from narcotics.
