Ministries of Endowments, Sports and Youth Unveil Third Edition of Distinguished Youth Researcher Award

Doha: The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Sports and Youth announced the launch of the third edition of the 'Distinguished Youth Researcher Award'.

According to Qatar News Agency, the award is organized under the supervision of the Department of Islamic Research and Studies at the Ministry of Endowments, in coordination with relevant departments in both ministries. This initiative is part of a strategic partnership aimed at empowering Qatari youth in the field of scientific research.

HE Director of the Department of Islamic Research and Studies Sheikh Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Thani highlighted the award's goal to encourage young researchers to address societal challenges and propose practical solutions. He praised the collaboration between the Ministry of Endowments and the Ministry of Sports and Youth, noting that the award encourages Qatari citizens and residents to explore the impact of role models on youth behaviors, particularly in the digital and new media spaces.

The Ministry of Sports and Youth commended the Ministry of Endowments for supporting young researchers and providing a credible academic platform. Entrusting youth to study their issues lends credibility to scientific findings and ensures solutions are relevant to real-world needs.

Jawaher Al Sulaiti, Director of the Planning, Quality, and Innovation Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, stated that the award aligns with Qatar's National Youth Policy objectives, promoting research, innovation, and youth participation in national issues. The Ministry is committed to creating a supportive environment for youth to address challenges affecting their lives.

The award's theme reflects a focus on understanding factors that influence youth values and behaviors, especially amid digital transformations. This understanding supports decision-makers and youth program developers in forming effective policies.

The Ministry views the award as a national platform to discover and develop young researchers, supporting Qatar National Vision 2030 and Qatar's National Youth Policy. The third edition will address five main themes related to role models in Qatari youth's lives. The total prize money exceeds QR200,000, with QR100,000 for the first place, QR75,000 for the second, and QR50,000 for the third.

The award's prizes underscore the Ministry's commitment to fostering research excellence and establishing scientific research as a cornerstone of sustainable development. Submissions are due by Monday, 1 Safar 1449 AH, corresponding to July 5, 2027, with results announced by December 31, 2027.
