Kuwaiti, Omani Foreign Ministers Stress Need to Intensify Regional, International Efforts to Stop War on Gaza

Kuwait, – Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and his Omani counterpart Bader Al Busaidi underlined today the need to intensify regional and international efforts to stop the escalation and war on Gaza, and to provide protection for civilians and their humanitarian needs.

During their meeting in Kuwait, the two ministers renewed their strong condemnation and absolute rejection of the ongoing Israeli violations, calling on the international community to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes against the Palestinian people and its killing of thousands of children, women, and other innocent, defenseless civilians in the Gaza Strip and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories.

They called for unified global standards in the application of international law and called on the United Nations Security Council to bear its full responsibility in stopping aggression, protecting civilians from wars, and maintaining international peace and security in accordance with Chapter Seven of the United Nations Charter, while welcoming the Security Council’s resolution issued yesterday calling for a humanitarian truce.

The two sides stressed Kuwait and Oman’s support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Kuwait’s Foreign Minister and his Omani counterpart, who is visiting Kuwait, discussed bilateral relations in addition to a number of regional and international developments, especially the serious repercussions of the Israeli aggression against Gaza on the region.
