Karim Benzema Officially Leaves Real Madrid

Legendary striker Karim Benzima’s 14-year stint with Real Madrid has come to a close, the Spanish club announced Sunday.

“Real Madrid football cub and captain Karim Benzema have agreed to bring his brilliant and unforgettable time as a player at our club to an end,” a statement on the club’s official website said.

Real Madrid would like to show gratitude and affection to a player who is already one of the club’s greatest legends, read the statement.

The French international joined Real Madrid in 2009 aged 21. He was won 25 titles, a record number for any Real Madrid player: five European Cups, five Club World Cups, four European Super Cups, four Leagues, three King’s Cups and four Spanish Super Cups.
