Riyadh: Iraqi President Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid met on Sunday with his Pakistani counterpart, Asif Ali Zardari, who is visiting Baghdad, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations as well as security and military coordination, and to benefit from Pakistan’s expertise in air force development and pilot training. The two presidents also reviewed regional developments during the meeting.
According to Qatar News Agency, President Rashid affirmed Iraq’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in the cultural and scientific fields, highlighting the role of university twinning in expanding academic exchange and building partnerships between educational and academic institutions in both countries.
For his part, President Zardari underscored Pakistan’s keenness to further develop bilateral relations, stressing his country’s readiness to expand areas of cooperation in line with shared interests.
