Manama, The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning announced the launch of a service to submit requests for housing units for people with disabilities for nominated applications electronically, via the remote customer service centre platform available on the ministry’s website www.housing.gov.bh.
The Ministry stated that the service provides citizens who benefit from the nomination certificate for residential units and apartment services, the possibility of submitting a request to benefit from an equipped unit in the event of a disability for one of the family members. The service is based on the Ministry’s ability to provide the necessary time to qualify the residential unit according to the type of disability, and thus the family’s benefit from it during the project delivery phase.
The Ministry explained that the service was designed to have simplified steps. This includes filling the electronic form for the service and attaching the medical report. They will start the procedure after accepting the applic
ation following the conditions regulating the service, the most prominent of which is that the candidate submits a statement of the existence of a disability in the applicant or one of the main family members included in the head of the household’s application.
The launch of this service comes based on the ongoing efforts to implement the digital transformation plan for all services and transactions provided by the Ministry to citizens, following the goal stated in the Government Program 2023-2026, related to supporting efforts aimed at digitizing government services and transactions and making them electronic comprehensively and gradually. In addition to responding to citizens’ suggestions that reach the Ministry through its various channels to develop the services provided to citizens.
