Riyadh: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, held a meeting today with Keiichi Iwamoto, Assistant Minister and Director-General of the Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The session focused on enhancing Gulf-Japanese relations and exploring means to strengthen cooperation between the two regions.
According to Qatar News Agency, the officials examined the progress of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations between the GCC and Japan. The agreement is expected to bolster the strategic partnership and serve the common interests of the populations in both regions.
Both parties reiterated their commitment to maintaining ongoing coordination and consultation. They emphasized the importance of enhancing communication channels to advance Gulf-Japanese relations and explore broader avenues of cooperation.
