Doha: HE French Minister Delegate for Francophonie, International Partnerships, and French Nationals Abroad, Eleonore Caroit, called for a focus on multilateral partnerships to achieve social development, moving away from unilateral actions that fail to achieve the desired goals.
According to Qatar News Agency, in her remarks at the Doha Solutions Forum for Social Development, held as part of the Second World Summit for Social Development, hosted by Qatar from November 4 to 6, Her Excellency stated that partnerships mean bringing together all stakeholders – politicians, civil society, decision-makers, and others – to send a clear message against any unilateral approach that seeks to diminish or curtail the concept and role of multilateralism.
She added that the Doha Conference sends a message of support to partners to ensure the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, including achieving social justice in the context of globalization.
She emphasized that lasting peace can only be built on sustained justice. She also explained that the conference renews the commitments made 30 years ago in Copenhagen, praising the Doha Platform for Social Development, which provides a space to showcase and support innovative solutions through 25 projects supported by Qatar, France, and the United Nations.
She affirmed France’s commitment to promoting social development globally, drawing on its extensive experience in this field, including the social support programs it implements in various countries around the world, and noting that this area is a priority for its 2027 G7 presidency.
